Heart for the City is a time in the life of our church where we serve together as church.
This Spring we will be serving with Forerunner Mentoring, Feed My Starving Children and Austin Street Center.

1. Forerunner Mentoring:
Forerunner’s vision is to serve and empower those affected by a father-absent home by building relationships founded on Jesus Christ.
Our Project: Facilitate and serve food at their Family Dinner.
Who is a good fit to serve? This is a good opportunity for families with kids as well as marrieds and singles to serve. Even better if you live in RISD or North Dallas as the event and most of Forerunner’s ministry is in Lake Highlands.
Date: Sunday, March 24th.
Location: Forerunner Offices at 10110 McCree Rd, Dallas, TX 75238
10 Volunteers Needed
Six volunteers needed
Set up the tables, chairs, decor, etc.
Prep & Serve dinner
Clean Up (5:30-6:30pm):
Clean up any dishes
Rack the tables
Return outdoor games/supplies/flags to upstairs storage room
All volunteers are encouraged to engage with the families at the event, eat dinner, and have fun! And families are welcome to serve as well! You can register at the bottom of this page.
2. Feed My Starving Children
Vision: Feed My Starving Children is a Christian non-profit organization, focused on feeding God’s starving children hungry in body and spirit. They are working to end global hunger.
Our Project: We need 20 volunteers for packing food to be distributed to hungry people throughout the world.
Who is a good fit for this project? Anyone in our church over the age of 5.

3. Austin Street Center
Vision: Austin Street Center provides safe shelter and meets the basic needs of the most vulnerable homeless.
Our Project: We will be serving the homeless through Austin Street by doing building community and helping with various maintenance projects at their facility.
Who is a good fit for this project? Families are welcomed, but children need to be supervised by their parents.
